BRAD CARLTON

Guitar, Bass, Theory,

Jazz Improvisation

Brad has been teaching at the Bringe School of Music since 1981,

a good portion of his 38 year teaching career!  Along with our school, Brad teaches at True Fire University and gigs as a professional musician. Originally from Georgia, Brad enjoys body-building and motorcycles!

Brian has been a part of our staff of educators since 1994 and has been teaching for 13 years.  His large family keeps him very busy, as does his musical involvement in several different groups at Calvary Chapel.

We’re happy to have him as part of our teaching team!

BRIAN HARRIS

Guitar & Bass

Amber joined our team of School of Music educators in 2004 and has been teaching for 7 years and counting.  She holds her hard-earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from The University of Tampa.  When she’s not teaching or studying, Amber performs in a classical guitar duo and as a guitarist in a local worship band.  She is a rare breed as she is  native of  St. Petersburg—our fair city!

KRISTY LEGGETT

Guitar & Bass

Kristy is our newest guitar and bass instructor!  Kristy has studied music at St. Pete College and plays in a band named Affiniti.  Her hobbies include watching football, especially the Bucs, being silly with friends and family, and being addicted to the TV series “24.”  She’s been teaching for 12 years and has been active in music since she was a youngster.  Welcome aboard, Kristy!

ROD SWANIGAN

Guitar, Bass, Banjo, Ukelele, Mandolin, Fiddle, Dobro,

Harmonica, & Recorder

Rodney’s been a part of the Bringe School of Music since 1980, 27 of    the 32 years he’s been teaching!   He has his AA from San Joaquin Delta College in California, his home state.  In his spare time he plays and solos professionally and enjoys golfing and surfing.

Here’s what one of Rod’s former students recently  emailed us:

“I can’t believe Rod Swanigan still works there!   I just wanted to pass this on to him if possible.  Thanks for the lessons.  He was my only guitar teacher ever and even though I wanted him to teach me Metallica and GNR songs he insisted on the fundamentals. I will always appreciate that.  It sent me on a better path as a musician.”
